Girls' Camp

*Disclaimer: Sorry for details....this is for my journal too*
Drive to Heber Valley Camp for the first time ever.
Electricity? Carpet? Hot, running water? Window Blinds? Bunk Beds?
This is not the Girls' Camp I'm used to.
It's a weird experience because I'm now a Youth Camp Leader in a ward I've never had camp with...I don't even know all their names.
We set up camp. We got into our three different cabins and saw that there was a backdoor. There we saw a deer, butterfly, and cocoon. Gotta love the outdoors :)

Sadly that night it rained and there was lightning....but don't worry, we know the safety crouch! Then we played bingo until every number was called.
Throughout the week we made a variety of crafts including lanterns, bracelets, necklaces, and embroidered pillow covers.
I had to leave for two nights because of Aida rehearsals but I was able to be there for all the days.
We had two birthdays during the week...so we had two celebrations (lots of sweets...)

The water front was fun but the hike there was long and hot (thank goodness for leaders who drive you back though!)
The Challenge course was different than I was used to but it was a great experience!

I'm sorry to say we did not sing a lot of camp songs....we did however, sing Disney songs on the night hike (moose, and snipe sightings cause a break from singing). The sunset from the overlook was so pretty and letters from home were comforting.

The camp people (missionaries and other workers) were surprised that our ward hiked together on every hike, but I was glad we did :)
It's Mount Timpanogos in the background.
Thursday was hot, but thank goodness for these delicious things!

I had to leave during the service project...and miss out on Bishopric night and Testimony meeting but I'm happy I got to go for as long as I did!

P.S. The Laurels ate the Chocolate.... :D
